Who Am I: Contemplative Journey in India October 5 - 9, 2024

Arunachala.jpg

This retreat explores the teachings and legacy of Sri Ramana Maharshi (1879–1950), widely regarded as one of India's most influential contemplative teachers of the twentieth century. Known for his emphasis on self-inquiry and direct awareness, his teachings continue to inspire people around the world.

Participants will visit Sri Ramana's renowned ashram in Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu, where visitors from many cultures and traditions continue to gather for reflection, study, and contemplative practice. Through guided discussions, readings, and meditation sessions, we will explore the central themes of his teachings and their relevance to contemporary life.

The journey will also include visits to significant temples, sacred sites, and cultural landmarks in the region, providing a deeper appreciation of the historical and cultural context in which these teachings emerged. Throughout the retreat, time will be set aside each day for meditation, reflection, and personal inquiry.

While the pace of the program will be gentle, this is not intended as a sightseeing tour. Rather, it is an opportunity for thoughtful engagement with one of the world's great contemplative traditions and an invitation to reflect on questions of meaning, awareness, and the art of living well.

Participation is limited to a small number of guests in order to preserve an atmosphere of depth, reflection, and meaningful exchange.
